Iraq Division One is the second-highest division in Iraqi football after the Iraqi Premier League. Each year, the top finishing teams in the league are promoted to the Iraqi Premier League, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to Division Two.
Iraq Division One was named from its foundation in 1964 to 2000 as the Division Two while the premier level was named the Iraqi League. In the 2000–01 the league was introduced as the Division One and the Iraqi League was named the Iraqi Premier League.
In the 2014–15 season, Al-Samawa FC were the division's champions and Al-Sinaa SC were the runners-up.
