The Irish Democratic Party is a minor Irish political party formed in 2013, as a result of a split with Direct Democracy Ireland. The party advocates the introduction of participatory democracy in the Republic of Ireland and plans to run one candidate in the 2016 general election, the party chairperson Ken Smollen in Offaly (Dáil Éireann constituency).[1][2] Members of the party have contributed to the Peoples Debate with Vincent Browne on TV3.
