Irish Open (snooker)
Not to be confused with Irish Masters or Irish Professional Championship.
For the previous tournament held in Belfast, see Northern Ireland Trophy.
The Irish Open was a professional snooker tournament. It was held for one year only, as the European ranking tournament in 1998.
On April 29, 2015, Barry Hearn announced it would return to the main tour in 2016 at an unspecified Belfast venue, as part of a new "Home Series" with the existing Welsh Open and new English Open and Scottish Open tournaments.[1][2]
