The project, should it be developed will become South Australia's largest mining project since Olympic Dam and the largest mine ever developed in the state's agricultural belt.[1]

Cape Hardy deep water port proposal

To serve its future export requirements, the company proposes to construct a new deep water port at Cape Hardy on the western shore of Spencer Gulf. The site is located between Port Neill and Tumby Bay, within the jurisdiction of the District Council of Tumby Bay.

The Cape Hardy port proposal has received Major Project Status from the Government of South Australia, but specific details are yet to be released for public consideration.[2]

The site is also located approximately 15 km north of the proposed site of Centrex Metals Ltd's Port Spencer project. CEO Andrew Stock has told the press that "Realistically, only one port will be built in the area."[3] [4]
