Isaac Kiprono Ruto is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the United Republican Party and was elected the first Governor of Bomet county in 2013 Kenyan General elections. He hails from Sigor in Chepalungu district and studied political science at the University of Nairobi. He is also a former Chairman of the Council of Governors in Kenya.

Isaac Ruto has made a name for himself as a pro-devolution politician through his political movement dubbed "Maendeleo Mashinani" (Grassroot Development). Currently, he is the de facto spokesman for the KIpsigis sub-tribe of the Kalenjins residing in the southern parts of the Rift Valley. He has hinted at running for Presidency in 2022, putting him on a collision path with Deputy President, William Ruto, who has similar ambitions.
