Lt Col Islam ul Haque, PhD is a retired Pakistan Army Officer from Corps of Engineers. Besides working in Pakistani military he also has experienced to work in many national and international organisations in the field of Water, Waste water and Environment. He is member of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf core committee on water and agriculture and played vital in formulating the PTI strategy on water management. Government of Pakistan has awarded him with Tamgha e Imtiaz Military in the recognition of his services.

Early life

Islam ul Haque was born in Sadiqabad and received his early education from there. He received further education from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul and later on from Military College of Engineering Risalpur.

Military career

Islam ul Haque was accepted in Pakistan Military Academy and passed out with 55 PMA Long Course[1] on 17 April 1977. Former Corps Commander Mangla Lt Gen Tariq Khan and Former Director General ISI Lt Gen Zaheer-ul-Islam also belong to 55 PMA Long Course. During his military career he performed different duties at both command and staff level. He completed many roads and buildings projects and also performed duties in Army bomb disposal unit. He participated in Mines clearing operation in first Gulf War and Indo Pak conflict Kargil War in 1999.

Islam ul Haque assigned special task of Lead Editor of International Journal of Environmental Monitoring and Analysis by Science Publishing Group USA for their special issuance on Ground Water Arsenic Contamination and Action Plan for Mitigation[21]

Current Activities

He is an active member of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf water and agricultural wing[22] and played vital role in formulating the party's strategy on water and agriculture. He also delivers lecture to the civil servants of different groups and cadres as per part of their annual training program on Water and Environment in National Institute of Management (NIM) and Civil Services Academy, Lahore on regular basis.
