The majority of the students are children of Pakistani expatriates living in Abu Dhabi, with significant minorities of Indian, Bangladeshi, and Arab students as well. The students of the school are called IESers or IESians.

Education

The school used to be affiliated with Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (Islamabad, Pakistan)[1] for providing SSC and HSSC education. But it no longer teaches the Pakistani curriculum. Its affiliated with Edexcel for providing IGCSE and GCE Advanced Level education.

Academic subjects

The school was founded based on the principle of providing both secular (science, social science, modern languages) and Islamic education (Quran, Arabic language, Islamic studies) to students. It offers classes in maths, biology, chemistry, physics, Pakistan studies, Urdu, Easy Urdu (from grade 4 onwards for non-Pakistani+non-Arabs), Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, Islamic studies, social science, economics, accounting, business studies, English language, English literature, computer science and physical education. Those enrolled in the Hifz section, also go on to memorize the Quran.

Facilities

The school has good sports facilities, including football/cricket outdoor ground, and a gym which includes a regulation sized basketball court. The gym also holds other sporting events such as badminton matches and gymnastics from time to time. In recent year the school has started planning to take part in inter school sports competitions. Every year the Sports Department (PE) management makes a school team of different sports consisting of the best players from different houses and different classes.

The school also houses a library and a resource room. The library lets students borrow books on a weekly basis. The conditions of the library are not well, and the budget for new books is also less. The resource room is built so the students can plan their upcoming speeches, projects and presentation with teachers.

Every year the school management holds a picnic for each classes from KG-1 onward annually . From Grade 4 onwards, girls and boys have separate picnics.

The school also provides hostel accommodation facilities for the teachers. There are four buildings, one for the single male teachers, one for single female teachers, one for the support staff and a family block. The single hostels also consists of a mess.

The school also has a very successful Eco Club which is well known for its effort throughout the city. The Eco Club consists of five different teams. Energy, Waste, Water, Land, Air.
