Islamic Azad University (Persian: دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی, Dāneshgāh-e Āzād-e Eslāmi) is a private chain of universities in Iran.
Headquartered in Tehran, Iran, the Islamic Azad University was founded in 1982 and has an enrollment of 1.3 million students.
The university operates a news agency similar to ANA, named "Azad News Agency".
Not relying on government funding, it charges students tuition fees. The certificates issued by this university should be recognized upon evaluation by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Masters and doctorate programs are offered by the university.
Mahshahr University (Polytechnic)
It was founded in 1988 by the Azad university president. Nearly 9000 students in six departments study Engineering Science.
