İsmail Ogan (March 5, 1933, Antalya Province, Turkey), is a former Turkish Olympic medalist sports wrestler in the Welterweight class (73 kg until 1961, 78 kg from 1961 on) and a trainer. He won the silver medal in Men's Freestyle wrestling at the 1960 Olympics and the gold medal at the 1964 Olympics.

He was born 1933 in Macun, a village in Antalya Province of southern Turkey. İsmail Ogan began wrestling in the traditional Turkish yağlı güreş (oil wrestling) and then switched over to sports wrestling in 1950 after he was discovered by Yaşar Doğu. Soon, he was admitted to the national team and received training by the renowned wrestlers Celal Atik and Yaşar Doğu. Besides his medals at two Olympic Games, İsmail Ogan won several titles at various cups and championships.

He retired from the active sports in 1964 after having represented his country 52 times successfully at international competitions and served then for 10 more years as the regional trainer .[1]

İsmail Ogan is married and has two children. He lives in Antalya.
