Iterative aspect
The iterative aspect is a grammatical aspect that expresses the repetition of an event.[1]
Russian language
Reduplication may be used for iterative aspect:
- брал да брал - (he was) taking and taking.
- брал-брал да выбрал - (he was) taking and taking, and finally took all of it.
A modification of the frequentative may add iterative aspect:
- ходить (to walk) → хаживать → похаживать.
