Jérémie Carboni is a French director, screenwriter, actor, producer and was a political communication advisor.[1] He was born on 28 December 1980 in Châtenay-Malabry, France.
Early life
He lived in France, Greece, Hungary and also in Italy for 6 years where he attended the Lycée français Chateaubriand (Rome) before studying at the Rome University of Fine Arts and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Then he graduated in cinema filmmaking and he also studied Political sciences.[2]
Career
He began as assistant producer/development of Michelangelo Antonioni, Jacques Rivette, Marguerite Duras's film producers : Stéphane Tchalgadjieff and Danièle Gégauff.[3] Then he directed music videos for Dominique Fidanza and Cynthia Brown (singer) (from television shows Star Academy and Popstars),[4][5] [6] before shooting in 2009 his first documentary film : Bartleby en coulisses, starring famous French writer Daniel Pennac.[7][8] In 2013, he made a film on a story of electronic music starring Jean Michel Jarre, Émilie Simon, Moriarty (band), Teho Teardo, François Bayle, etc.[9][10][11] The film has been selected by the prestigious film festival musiquepointdoc and screened in Paris on 19 June 2013 at La Gaîté Lyrique.[12][13] Thereafter between 2013 and 2015, he is also the President of Compagnie M.I.A., a theatre company created under the impetus of novelist Daniel Pennac.[14] In 2016 he shot a film on French stylists Marithé François Girbaud, inventors of Stonewash, Wattwash, skin-tight jeans and baggy trousers.[15] In the same year, he is shooting a new film on French novelist Michel Déon (member of the Académie française and of literary movement named Les Hussards in the 50's) starring Emmanuel Carrère, Xavier Darcos, Yves Boisset, Jean d'Ormesson, Eric Neuhoff, Milan Kundera, Nicolas Briançon, etc.[16]

Personal life
- His grandparents, Jacques et Antoinette Rozenker, were stylists for French artists (Sylvie Vartan, Julien Clerc, Johnny Hallyday, etc) and patrons in the 60’s and 70’s. They launched in particular French stylists Marithé François Girbaud.
- His father, Jean-Michel Carboni, is a senior executive and member of management committee of Engie group (French multinational of electric utility and natural gas). Former manager of IT services and CEO of ENGIE IT.[26][27] His mother is a pianist.[28]
