Jørgen Thormøhlen
Jørgen Thormøhlen (c 1640 – 25 December 1708) was a Norwegian merchant and industrialist. He was born in Holstein, the son of a wine trader from Hamburg named Jürgen ther Möhlen. He settled in Bergen, where he married Giertrud Magers, daughter of naturalized citizen Hendrich Magers, who was regarded the wealthiest merchant in Bergen. Thormøhlen became the largest ship owner in Norway, and was involved in a number of other businesses. He traded fish from Northern Norway, and developed industry in Bergen, located at Møhlenpris.[1][2]
