Jüri Ratas (2011)

Jüri Ratas (born 2 July 1978 in Tallinn) is an Estonian politician, since 2 April 2007 Vice-President of the Riigikogu. He was also the mayor of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, from 2005 to 2007.

He is a member of the Estonian Centre Party. As a Mayor of Tallinn he initiated the European Green Capital programme.[1]

In 2013 he proposed to increase the minimum tax from 2000 to 2250 krooni, a process which was 5 years in the making.[2]

In 2014 he said that Brussels should be more concerned about African future.[3]

In 2015 parliamentary election, Seeder was re-chosen to the parliament with 7,932 individual votes.[4] In March he was elected as the Second Deputy Speaker of the parliament.[5]

He is married and has one daughter and two sons.
