J-Horror Theater
J-Horror Theater is a Japanese horror series of films. With the success of Ring, a group of six directors were asked by producer Takashige Ichise to create a film, each to be released under the umbrella of J-Horror Theater.
- Infection by Masayuki Ochiai released: 2 October 2004. (Officially released in theaters and on DVD as part of J-Horror Theater)
- Premonition by Tsuruta Norio released: 2 October 2004. (Officially released in theaters and on DVD as part of J-Horror Theater)
- Reincarnation by Takashi Shimizu released: 7 January 2006. (Officially released in Japanese theaters as part of J-Horror Theater, on DVD and in US theaters as part of the Horrorfest 8 films to Die For 2006 series)
- Retribution by Kiyoshi Kurosawa released: 24 February 2007. (Not officially released as a J-Horror Theater entry.)
- Kaidan by Hideo Nakata Released: 4 August 2007 (Not officially released as a J-Horror Theater entry.)
- Kyōfu by Hiroshi Takahashi Released: 10 July 2010. Final film made by the original duo responsible for the film that started it all, Ring, Director Hiroshi Takahashi (screenwriter of the original film) and Producer Takashige Ichise. Officially part of the J-Horror Theater series. Official Kyōfu trailer also indicates that Kaidan and Sakebi were part of the series, as at the beginning it shows clips from all 5 films with their release dates, 2004-2007, followed by the Kyôfu preview. It marks the end of the 6 films making up the J-Horror Theater.
