J-League Winning Eleven 2009 Club Championship is the latest edition to the Winning Eleven J-League series. This game is an update to the J-League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship and the game was only released in Japan. The game only features club teams and teams from both tiers of the J. League totalling 36 teams. The game also features 118 foreign teams from the Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A, Eredivisie, Primera División and a selection of teams from other leagues.
In addition, a total of five new stadiums have been added, Saitama Stadium 2002, Sapporo Dome, Nagai Stadium, Tochigi Green Stadium and Momotaro Stadium.
