Oh Ji-Min (born on May 27, 1988), commonly stylized J-Min, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and musical actress. J-Min fluent speaks Japanese and English along with her native Korean.
Music career
2007–09: Debut, Korogaru Ringo, Dream On.., The Singer and Change/One
J-Min made her debuted with release mini-album Korogaru Ringo on September 12, 2007.
On January 16, 2008 J-Min's second Japanese mini-album Dream On.. was release. Followed, cover Japanese album "The Singer" on November 19.
J-Min released first Japanese single Change/One on May 27, 2009. It was her last release under Avex Trax.
2012–13: Soundtrack, If You Want, Heart Theatre
J-Min release original soundtrack for another drama in 2012. She release the first soundtrack titled "Hello, Love" to KBS2's drama Wild Romance on January 30. The second soundrack titled "시공천 애" was release to MBC's drama God of War on April 13. The third soundtrack titled "Can't Say It" was release to MBC's drama The King 2 Hearts on April 27. The fourth soundtrack titled "Story" was release to KBS2's drama Sent from Heaven in July 2. The fifth soundtrack titled "Stand Up" was release to SBS's drama To the Beautiful You on August 15. Her last participation soundtrack in 2012 titled "Beautiful Days" was release to KBS2's drama School 2013 on December 11.
J-Min contract expired with Avex Trax in 2012 later she signed Nayutawave Records (now also known EMI Records) for her Japan promotion and release her new single If You Want on November 21, 2012 under the label. followed, Heart Theater on March 13, 2013 .
2014: Cross The Border, South Korea debut
J-Min's Japanese album Cross The Border was released on January 21, 2014, with the title track "Sorry".
The song "Hero" was recorded for the MBC's drama Miss Korea .
J-Min performed "Hoo" on June 19's broadcast of Mnet's M! Countdown, June 20's broadcast of KBS's Music Bank, June 21's broadcast of MBC's Music Core, and June 22's broadcast of SBS's Inkigayo with the pre-released digital Korean single "Hoo". On June 24, 2014, J-Min released the Music Video and digital Korean single titled "Hoo".[1]"Hoo" is an acoustic ballad and a re-arrangement of "Hero", the soundtrack for the drama Miss Korea.
In July 2014, SM Entertainment announced J-Min would release a mini album Shine, digitally on July 18 and physically on July 21.[2] The music video for "Shine" featured Titan and Hansol of SMRookies.
Acting career
Musical
In June 2012, J-Min starred in the musical 'Jack the Ripper' as 'Gloria'.The musical ran from 1 June to 17 August 2012 at Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul.
In February 2013, J-Min starred in the musical 'The Three Musketeer' as 'Constance'. It ran from 20 February to 21 April 2013 at Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul.[3]
In 2015, J-Min played 'Vanessa' in the musical 'In The Heights'. She alternated the role with actress Oh Soyeon. The musical was produced by SM C&C, a subsidiary of S.M. Entertainment, and ran from September 4 to November 22 at 'Blue Square'.[4]
