Joseph Jacob Totah mostly known as J.J. Totah (born August 5, 2001), is an American actor, comedian, and singer from Sacramento, California. He is best known for playing Myron Muskovitz in the last season of the Fox television series Glee[1][2] and Stuart on the Disney Channel television series Jessie.[3] He is also known for playing Justin in the film Other People which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. Totah received critical praise for his role with Variety naming him as one of the breakout actors from Sundance and InStyle Magazine naming him one of the 10 Rising Stars to Watch and Most Inspirational Person at Sundance.
Life and career
Totah's career began in 2012, although in an interview with SweetyHigh, Totah stated "I was 2 years old when I knew I wanted to do musical theatre."[4] He also hosts The J.J. and Diamond Show on YouTube with Diamond White, which is a teen celebrity news show on the FanLaLaTV channel.[5] He has the recurring role of Stuart Wooten on the Disney Channel Original Series Jessie.
In 2015, he participated in 4 episodes of the last season of the Fox musical comedy-drama TV series Glee as Myron Muskovitz, an infant prodigy with a very good singing and dancing capacity that happens to be "diva". Myron joins the glee club after he gets transferred to the William McKinley High School for his talent, and befriends with the club's members, especially with Kitty Wilde.
In 2016, Totah received critical praise for his role as Justin in the film Other People which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Totah is of Palestinian and Lebanese descent.[6]
Influences
Totah cites his brother and sister as an influence on his acting career, stating "My sister is the reason I started in show business. My brother is 18 and he has autism. We’ve done what we can to get him help, and he’s amazing and extraordinary. He’s the reason I keep going every day."
