J. V. Manikanda Balaji (born 11 March 1987) is an Indian film editor, who has worked in the Tamil film industry.

Career

J. V. Manikanda Balaji was born to a stunt choreographer, who worked in Tamil films. He subsequently found himself regularly on the sets of films and developed a passion for film-making. He went on to study at Loyola College, Chennai where he acquired an undergraduate degree in Visual Communication and then obtained a postgraduate degree in Business Administration.

J. V. Manikanda Balaji began interning as an assistant editor with editor Anthony, before joining the editor Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth as an associate editor and served for around 24 films with the pair. In 2014, he began work on a small budget film titled Nagarvalam, before getting the opportunity to edit Kuthoosi, featuring actor Dhileepan. In 2015, Udhayanidhi Stalin gave him the opportunity to work on the production of Manithan (2016), directed by I. Ahmed.[1]
