John Robert Henderson CIE (1863-1925) was a British zoologist who served as the Chief Superintendent of the Government Museum, Chennai from 1908 to 1920.
Early life
Henderson was born in the United Kingdom in 1863. After his early education in England, Henderson joined the Indian Educational Service as Professor of Zoology, Madras Christian College in 1892.
Career
Henderson served as Professor of Zoology at the Madras Christian College from 1892 to 1908. In 1908, Henderson succeeded Edgar Thurston as Superintendent of Government Museum and Connemara Library. Henderson was made a Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire (CIE) for his contributions.
Death
Henderson died in 1925 at the age of 62.
