JD & The Straight Shot is an American band based in New York City. The band's founder and frontman is James Dolan, head of several media and telecommunications organizations, such as Cablevision, the New York Knicks, and AMC Networks.
JD & The Straight Shot have toured alongside The Eagles, The Allman Brothers Band, ZZ Top, and Robert Randolph. Members of the Straight Shot also tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Their song "Can't Make Tears" is the theme song for Cablevision-owned AMC's TV show Hell on Wheels. Their music has been featured in films as well, including Hurricane Season. The band is scheduled to open for Jewel on her 2016 Picking Up the Pieces North American Tour.
