He has appeared in several film and television roles, including the role of Simon Doyle in the television series Poirot's version of Death on the Nile, and as Paul Osbourne in Marple "The Pale Horse". He has also appeared in Northanger Abbey as Henry Tilney and as Frederick Garland in the BBC adaptations of Philip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North. His film roles include playing the younger version of Michael Caine's character in Last Orders and playing the role of Heinz in Telstar.[5][6]

In 2008, he made his West End debut in Ring Round the Moon.[7] In 2011, Feild co-starred in Captain America: The First Avenger as James Montgomery Falsworth. The same year, he starred alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Third Star and appeared in the BBC adaptation of Sarah Waters' The Night Watch.[8][9] He appeared as Henry Nobley in Jerusha Hess's adaptation of Shannon Hale's novel Austenland in 2013.[10][11] Feild filmed a role in Not Safe for Work in 2012.[10]

Feild appeared in the BBC's The Musketeers as Marsac in 2014.[12] Since April 2014, Feild has starred as Major John André in Turn: Washington's Spies on AMC.[13] He has been cast in the film adaptation of La sonrisa etrusca, alongside Brian Cox, Thora Birch and Rosanna Arquette.[14]

Personal life

As of 2009, Feild spends half the year in Los Angeles and the other half in London.[4] In March 2012, Feild and his partner, actress Neve Campbell, confirmed that they were expecting their first child together.[10] Campbell gave birth to their son, Caspian, in August 2012.[15][16]
