J & J Snack Foods Corporation (or JJSF) is an American food and beverage manufacturing and marketing conglomerate based in Pennsauken, New Jersey. It is primarily involved with frozen beverages and snack foods.[1]
The group owns such well-known brands as ICEE, SuperPretzel, Bavarian Pretzel Bakery, Mrs. Goodcookie, Pretzel Filler, Country Home Bakery, Slush Puppie, Luigi's Italian Ice, Tio Pepe's churros, The Funnel Cake Factory, Wholefruit, Uptown Bakeries, and Readi-Bake.[2] The company reaches the public through supermarket distribution, specialized retail outlets, and a Food Service division.
History
Initially called J&J Pretzel Co., the company was purchased in 1971 by Gerald Shreiber and renamed.[3]
