The Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes research about musculoskeletal rehabilitation, health, and wellness, including such areas as orthopedics, physical therapy, and sports medicine. JOSPT was established in 1979, following the founding of the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine sections of the American Physical Therapy Association. At that time, the Journal merged the Bulletin of the Orthopaedic Section and the Bulletin of the Sports Medicine Section.

Initially published on a quarterly basis, JOSPT is now a monthly publication, distributed in print and online to APTA Orthopaedic Section and Sports Physical Therapy Section members as well as more than 7,000 institutional and individual subscribers in the United States and around the world. According to the Journal's website, in 2012 more than 60,000 read the online version of JOSPT each month. The Journal is indexed by PubMed/Medline and Cinahl, among other indexing services.
