The Jack Hills mine is an iron ore mine located 400km northeast of Geraldton in the Mid West region of Western Australia. Operations began at Jack Hills in November 2006, with the first shipment of ore made in February 2007. Mining was suspended in November 2012 and the project was placed on care and maintenance in June 2013.[1][2][3][4]
The Jack Hills mine is owned by Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.[2]
