Jackal of Nahueltoro (Spanish: El Chacal de Nahueltoro) is a 1969 Chilean drama film directed by Miguel Littín. It is based on a real life event about an alcoholic peasant who killed a woman and her five children in 1960. He was sentenced to death and executed by firing squad in 1963. It was entered into the 20th Berlin International Film Festival.[1]
Plot
Jorge (George) del Campo Valenzuela is a farmer, who from childhood is object of abuses and labored exploitation, which makes him become an alcoholic. He receives help from a poor woman with five children. But while he is drunk, he kills them all. He is trapped by police and put in jail. With help of a catholic minister, he converts and feels guilty about his actions. After he gets penal punishment.
