Jackie Craven

Jackie Craven is an American writer and author who specializes in architecture, design and cultural travel. She also writes poetry, fiction, and essays.[1] She is the author of The Stress-Free Home and The Healthy Home and is the architectural writer for About.com.[2] Craven's literary writing has been published in various literary journals, including Mid-American Review, New Ohio Review, Existere, SNReview, Pearl (literary magazine), and The Asheville Poetry Review.[3] Her chapbook, Our Lives Became Unmanageable, won the 2014 Fabulist Fiction award from Omnidawn Publishing.[4] She is a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA),[5] and her travel features have been published in major newspapers in the United States and Canada.[6] She wrote a monthly column for House & Garden magazine,[6] and published many features in The Providence Journal and other newspapers.[7] Previously, she worked as an architecture writer for Realtor magazine.[7] She holds a Doctor of Arts in English from the State University of New York at Albany. Craven lives in Schenectady, New York. She was twice awarded by the Schenectady Heritage Foundation.
