Jaclyn Michelle Linetsky (January 8, 1986[1] September 8, 2003[2]) was a Canadian actress and voice actress. She was best known for her roles as Megan O'Connor on 15/Love and Caillou on "Caillou".

Early life

Jaclyn Michelle Linetsky was born at the Jewish General Hospital to Terry Weiner, daughter of Jeanne and David Weiner, and Larry Linetsky, son of Eunice and Ell Linetsky. She had 2 siblings, Kelly and Derek.[1] Linetsky was raised in the suburb of Hampstead in Montréal, Québec. She graduated from St. George's High School, Montreal in 2003 and spoke at the graduation ceremony.

Career

Linetsky dubbed the English voice for Caillou in the preschool animated series of the same name between 2000 and 2002. She also provided the voices for Bitzi in the 2002 animated series Daft Planet, Lori Mackney in What's with Andy? (2003–2004), and Meg in Mega Babies.

Her other roles in voice acting included Kit and Kaboodle, Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat, The Kids from Room 402, Wunschpunsch, The Country Mouse and the City Mouse Adventures, Pet Pals, Tommy and Oscar, Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings, Jim Button and popular videogames Alex Builds His Farm and Evolution Worlds. In 2003, Linetsky was cast in the tennis-circuit-themed dramatic series 15/Love on YTV. Her character, Megan O'Conner, was mutually falling in love with co-star Vadim Schneider's character, Sebastien Dubé.

Death

On September 8, 2003, at the age of 17, Linetsky and Vadim Schneider were on their way to the set of 15/Love in St. Cesaire, Québec in their friend's Dodge Grand Caravan. The van lost control and collided head on with a semi-truck, after which the vehicle broke into flames. Both Linetsky and Schneider were killed instantly.[3][4] Following their deaths, the writers of 15/Love decided that Linetsky and Schneider's characters Megan O'Conner and Sebastien Dubé would be killed in a plane crash off the coast of the Isle of Wight, England after a tennis tournament. The last show that Jaclyn and Vadim were in was dedicated to them. Linetsky was interred at the Kehal Israel Memorial Cemetery in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
