Jagiroad (Assamese: জাগীৰোড /ˈdʒʌɡɪˌroʊd/ ) is a census town in the Morigaon district in the Indian state of Assam. It is famous for a paper mill Nagaon Paper Mill (NPM) and a dry fish market. It was earlier known as Nakhola, but in British Rule of India, due to frequent confusion with the name Noakhali of Bangladesh, it was changed to Jagiroad because the road to Jagi passes through this place, which is again another place in Morigaon district.
In Jagiroad another important UDAAN Foundation has been founded. Which is a leading charitable organisation by the students and for the students. This organisation was founded by some students from Jagiroad, RazaQul Islam, Abhigyan Kashyap, Dipankar Bora, Chiranjit Sarkar and many more. ..
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Jagiroad had a population of 17,254. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Jagiroad has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 69%. In Jagiroad, 12% of the population is under six years of age.

Jagiroad is part of Nowgong (Lok Sabha constituency).[2]
Transport
National Highway 37 (India) and the Guwahati–Lumding section operated by Indian Railways' North East Frontier Railway pass through Jagiroad. Jagiroad is also connected with Marigaon by Morigaon Road.
On 16 April 2014, a train to Guwahati carrying around 700 people derailed here, leading to 45 injuries. Visitors can see here the most beautiful jog fall.Many assamese films were shot here.
Industry
The Nagaon Paper Mill (NPM) was established in 1970. A unit of Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd. which is situated on the National Highway 37 at Kagajnagar in Jagiroad. It is the first paper mill in the world to produce Kraft pulp in Kamyr Continuous Digester with 100% bamboo as raw material.
