This article is about the township area near Rourkela city which is a part of the greater metropolis of Odisha.Jalda is a census town in Sundargarh district in the Indian state of Odisha. Also known as Jolda.
Name
The name Jalda ( Jol-da ) is derived by the local people in their local language sadri . It is divided by 3 blocks Jalda A Block,Jalda B Block & Jalda C block . And a mixed colony named as ABC COLONY. It comes under Sundergarh district of the Indian state of Odisha. An indigenous community called Raulia used to inhabit this region.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Jalda had a population of 11,957. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Jalda has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 52%. In Jalda, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. Jalda is divided into Jalda A Block ,Jalda B Block and Jalda C Block.
