Jamal Harris Bhuyan (born 10 April 1990) is a Danish-born Bangladeshi footballer[2] who plays as a midfielder.

Bangladesh national team

He is a player on the Bangladesh national football team. On 31 August 2012, when he made his debut against Nepal, he became the first player who is not a resident in the country to play for the full national side.[1][3][4]

Top-ranked South Asian player

In 2014, Bhuyan was ranked number 9 of the 10 best South Asian players who can play for the top European Clubs.[5] He was selected as the player of the tournament in Kings Cups Bhutan by journalists after the final. The Serbian coach Nikola Kavazovic and Dutch coach Lodewijk de Kruif dubbed Jamal Bhuyan as the best defensive midfielder player in South Asia.[4] Jamal Bhuyan became the MVP (most valuable player) in Bangabondhu cup tournament where 8 countries took part.[6]

Jamal Bhuyan became the highest paid Bangladeshi player ever when he signed with the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club for 2014/2015. His former clubs are Brøndby IF Denmark, F.C. Copenhagen Denmark, Hellerup IK Denmark, Stallions F.C. Philippines, and Shanghai Shenxin F.C. China.
