James Burmeister
James Burmeister is an Army soldier who was charged with AWOL and desertion. He refused redeployment to Iraq while on leave in May 2007 because of some soldiers use of "bait and kill" tactics: a soldier would place objects such as fake security cameras, AK47 assault rifles, and bomb making materials in the open to bait a civilian into being sniped. He moved to Canada with his spouse and her infant child,[1] and lived there for 10 months before returning voluntarily to Fort Knox in March 2008 after learning that "bait and kill" tactics were deemed immoral.
