James E. Pepper is an American manufacturer and distiller of liquors.[1][2]
The recipe for the Old Fashioned cocktail was said to have been invented by a bartender at that club in honor of Colonel James E. Pepper, one of the founders of James E. Pepper company and a prominent bourbon distiller,[3] who brought it to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel bar in New York City.[3][4]
