James Greene (born 19 May 1931 in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is an actor who has appeared in numerous plays and series on United Kingdom television over a 40-year period. He has often played lawyers, clergymen, army officers and latterly judges.[1]
Greene was a continuity announcer on Ulster Television from 1959 until 1965.
His film and television appearances include:
- Mapp & Lucia (1985-1986) as the Reverend Bartlett,
- Chocky (1984)
- The Bill (1990-2008)
- Johnny English (released 2003) as Scottish Bishop
- Holby City (2005-2013)
- Doctor Who (2013)
- Big School (2013–14) as Head of Science, Mr. John Hubble
- Birds of a Feather (2014) as Stanley Barrington Court the Third - 1 episode
- Downton Abbey (2015) as Sir Mark Stiles - final episode.
