James R. Verrier

James R. Verrier (born 1965) is a business leader in the automotive industry.

Education

Verrier has a degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from West Midlands College in the United Kingdom and an MBA from the University of Glamorgan.[1]

Career

Current executive roles

Verrier has been Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors at BorgWarner Inc. since the beginning of 2013. He took over from Tim Manganello who had held the position of CEO for the previous decade.[2] Verrier is also a Trustee of Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, Inc. and a member of the Business Roundtable.[3] His total compensation for 2013 was $8,127,638.[4]

Employment history

Before taking on his current role at the firm, Verrier held other key roles at BorgWarner. These included: President, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President. He was also President and General Manager of BorgWarner Morse TEC Inc., and VP and GM of Passenger Car at BorgWarner Turbo Systems Inc.[5] He also worked in the fields of: Human Resources, Operations Management and Quality Control since joining the firm in 1989.

Awards and recognition

In 2014, Verrier was honored as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year winner in the automotive category in the Michigan and Northwest Ohio region for his “entrepreneurial excellence and extraordinary success in innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to his businesses and communities.”[6]
