Dato' Sri Jamil bin Salleh is the current Secretary General to the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Corporation and Consumerism. Ever since joining the ministry in the 80's Dato' Sri Jamil bin Salleh was given the opportunity to work in various fields. As a deputy secretary he is in charge with international relation and management of the ministry.[1]

Personal life

Jamil is married to Datin Sri Dr Asmah Binti Samat a medical doctor, and the couple have 4 children. Jamil is a native of Melaka, Malaysia.

Education

Jamil Salleh studied in University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur where he graduated with B.A. Hons. Antropologi dan Sosiologi. He also obtained a diploma in public administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) in Kuala Lumpur.[2]

Contribution and career in the government

He started in the government as a Senior Officer for Culture, Youth and Sports in the Ministry of Youth and Sportss (1983). In the year 1984 he was appointed as an assistant director for the development of Youth Economy, Youth Division, under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. After holding various position in the ministry he was then appointed as a Deputy Secretary General for the Ministry of Youth and Sportss.[3][4]
