Jaminpur
Jaminpur is a village under Binodpur Union of Shibganj Upazila, Chapai Nawabganj District in western Bangladesh.[1] It is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from Monakasha, and near the border with India, .
Akimuddin Gronthagar
Akimuddin Gronthagar is a library established on 4 May 2008 to show respect a undermatric teacher named Akimuddin (1898–1976). Akimuddin Gronthagar contains a philosophy 'knowledge is entry'. It has more than 500 books and other tools and papers. Within a year it worked very good with the student of science. Akimudin Gronthagar arranged three camps to observe the solar eclipse of 22 July 2009. It has a team led by Jahangir Alam Sur, science writer and science discussant. The team arranges many program on science. It has a program 'a science discussion on Lavoisier and a science oration, knowledge is entry.' at Islami University, Kustia on 20 August 2009. With the help of BRB Cable Industries Ltd, the "total solar eclipse observation committee" set up observation camps at Bell's Park in Barisal, Akimuddin Library in Chapainawabganj, science and technology university campuses in Syedpur and Gazipur, Jahangirnagar University and Araj Ali Matubbar library at Dania in Dhaka.[2][3][4]
Akimuddin Sir
Akimuddin, in 1958, for the first time dreamt for a school in his own village, Jaminpur and established Jaminpur Primary School. And with Kalimuddin he continued teaching till 1973. He was born in 1898 in Duisotobighi, Maldah of India. After 15 August 1947 he came to Jaminpur of East Bangla to live. He saw the freedom war of 1971. Akimuddin Sir died in 1976.
Communication
There is no high school in Jaminpur village. To study in school and college, the students of this village go to four km from the village on foot or riding bicycle because of the very poor road system.
Education
Jaminpur has one primary school and a dakhil madrasa.[5]
Jaminpur Primary School
Abul Morol and his two other friends, in 1958, dreamt to build a primary school. In 1962, Ummed Ali gave an area of 56 sotoks where the present school building is stood. Jaminpur Secondary School was established. In 1973, the school went under the government.
Jaminpur Horoj Ali Dakhil Madrasha
The late Horoj Ali established the madrasha in 2001. Only humanities is taught in SSC level. There is only one Bsc teacher named Md. Sadikul Islam. In the madrasha there is a computer course. Mrs. Farida is assigned for the post of computer teaching.
