Janette Kim is an American architect, designer, critic, educator, and researcher based in New York City. She is a current professor at Syracuse University, former professor at Columbia University, runs a practice called ''All the Above", and is founder and editor of ARPA Journal.[1]
Education
Janette Kim received a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University.
Career
From 2005 to 2015, Kim was an adjunct assistant professor at Barnard College and at Columbia University, where she was in charge of the Urban Landscape Lab.[2] During this period, she created the master plan for the Fall Kill Creek Planning Project, and Safari 7, a public art project at public transit routes around the world and showcased at the Hong Kong Biennale.[3][4] [5] As from Fall 2015, she works at the Syracuse University's School of Architecture as an assistant professor.
Janette Kim is also the editor and founder of A.R.P.A. Journal based in Columbia University. She is also principal of All the Above, a design and research practiced based in Brooklyn. Their works have included the Pinterest Headquarters at San Francisco In addition, Kim is author to the forthcoming book titled "The Underdome Guide to Energy Reform" on the politics of energy.[6]
