Janis Tanaka (born January 9, 1963) is a bass player[5] who has worked as a session musician and on tour with a number of well-known artists including Pink,[6] Fireball Ministry, Hammers of Misfortune, Stone Fox and L7. She was also a member of the Pagan Babies, a band started by Courtney Love, Kat Bjelland and Deirdre Schletter in the 1980s. She is currently playing in the band Winterthrall. She is currently playing with the new all female version of L.A. based Femme Fatale.[7]

She has also acted in a few films: Live Freaky Die Freaky, Down and Out With Dolls and The Year of My Japanese Cousin.[8]
