Jardin
Jardín is a town in Antioquia, Colombia. It has a population of about 17,000 people.
Description
Jardin is a town located in southwestern Antioquia. It has abundant flora and fauna, specially birds. It is 134 kilometers away from the capital city Medellín. The first inhabitants were indigenous people called the Chamies. Presently, there is an indigenous settlement six kilometres from Jardin. The founders were Don Indalecio Pelaez and Priest Jose Maria Gomez Angel. Jardin is well-known because of its festivities every two years. They are the Rose Festivities which are filled with many cultural events.
The Inmaculada Concepcion Church is a Basilica. The central and left roofs were repaired recently. There are long and pious ceremonies in this religious place specially during the Easter.
