Jason Forde (born 22 December 1993) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Silvermines and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2013.[1]
Career
He played Minor Hurling for Tipperary in 2010 and 2011, he was captain of the side in 2011.[2][3]
Forde was part of the Tipperary Under 21 team that lost to Clare in the 2012 Munster Final.[4]
He made his senior debut for Tipperary in January 2013 against LIT in the 2013 Waterford Crystal Cup and scored three points.[5] He made his league debut in February 2013, coming on in the second half against Cork in the 2013 National Hurling League and scored two points.[6] On 21 April 2013 he won the man of the match award from TG4 for his performance against Dublin in the league semi-final win.[7]
On 6 July 2013, he made his Championship debut when he came on as a second-half substitute against Kilkenny at Nowlan Park in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Qualifiers, a game which Tipperary lost by 1-14 to 0-20.[8][9]
In October 2013, he was named in the 2013 Bord Gáis Energy Under 21 hurling team of the Year, after scoring 5-25 in the championship.[10]
