Javier Salgado Martín, more commonly known as Javi Salgado is a Spanish professional basketball player. He currently plays as point guard at Movistar Estudiantes.

Career

After being formed at Maristas school in Bilbao, Salgado started his career at SD Patronato in 1998. The next year, he signs for Baloncesto León to play in the reserve team (Elmar León) at Liga EBA, in that time the Spanish third division.

In 2001, he joins the new created team in his native town: Bilbao Basket. With this team he plays during the next ten seasons in three different leagues: LEB Plata, LEB Oro and Liga ACB, playing also two Eurocup Basketball semifinals in 2009 and 2010.

After leaving the team in summer 2010, his number was retired at Bilbao Basket.[1] He signs for Lagun Aro GBC in July 2010[2] from the neighbour city of San Sebastián, where he continues playing nowadays.

Spanish National team

Salgado played with the U20 team and played several friendly games for Basque Country autonomous basketball team.
