Javier Eraso Goñi (born 22 March 1990) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Athletic Bilbao as a midfielder.

Club career

Born in Pamplona, Navarre, Eraso graduated with Athletic Bilbao's youth setup, and started playing as a senior in the 2008–09 season with CD Basconia, in Tercera División. One year later, he was promoted to the reserves in Segunda División B.

On 19 June 2013, Eraso was released by the Lions[1] and joined CD Leganés also in the third level the following month.[2] He appeared in 42 games during the campaign, as the Madrid club was promoted to Segunda División after a ten-year absence.

Eraso played his first match as a professional on 7 September 2014, starting in a 3–1 home win against RCD Mallorca.[3] He scored his first goal in the second level on 21 December, netting the last in 2–0 home success over Recreativo de Huelva.[4]

On 31 May 2015, Eraso scored a hat-trick in a 5–2 away routing of FC Barcelona B.[5] On 1 July he returned to Athletic, now being assigned to the main squad in La Liga.[6]

Eraso made his official debut for Athletic on 30 July 2015, starting and scoring both goals in a 2–0 win against Inter Baku PIK at the San Mamés Stadium for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.[7]
