Jairam Samal[Note] aka Jayee (Odia : ଜୟୀରାମ ସାମଲ) is a comic actor in the Oriya Film Industry. He has over 300 works to his credit including films, television serials and plays. He started his career in the 1970s as comic actor. His trademark laugh has always been the attraction in his films. He is compared as equal to comedians Johnny Walker and Keshto Mukherjee of Bollywood genre.[1] Along with comedians Harihar Mohaptra and Tatwaprakash Satapathy alias Pappu Pom Pom, Samal is regarded as the best comedian of Ollywood.[2] He also appeared in negative roles in some films.

In 2008, Samal was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award at the 40th Banichitra Awards presented by the Banichitra film magazine along with singer Raghunath Panigrahi.[3]
