Toulambi film controversy
In one of his films dedicated to the Toulambi tribe, [3] Dutilleux claims that the footage of the film includes the tribe's first encounter with modern civilization and white men. A video of this film has been extensively posted in the internet, prompting questions about the veracity of this claim. [4] According to an article in the peer-reviewed Journal of Pacific History, the colonial archives indicate that the territory of the Toulambis had been visited by at least six patrols between 1929 and 1972.[5] That is less than once every 10 years with the groups of tribes commonly referred to as Toulambe numbering over 40 000 in population.
