History
Originally founded in 1895 as a shipping agency, by Heinrich Jessen and Jacob Jebsen, Jebsen & Co later embraced the import-export trade business in the early years of British colonial rule. In 1953, Jebsen imported the first Volkswagen Beetle into Hong Kong. In 1963, the company was required to temporarily close its offices in China, afterwards opening them again in the late 1970s.
Jebsen & Co has twelve offices in Greater China, and as a member of the Jebsen and Jessen Family Enterprise the company has a global reach through six other companies, including Jebsen & Jessen (SEA).
