Jeff Berwick (born Jeffrey David Berwick, November 24, 1970) is a Canadian entrepreneur, libertarian and anarcho-capitalist activist.
Berwick became wealthy after he founded Stockhouse, a financial news site.[1] He later was an investor in bitcoin.[1]
In 2013, Berwick was a promoter of Galt's Gulch Chile project,[2] a libertarian enclave in the Curacaví region of Chile that did not come to fruition as envisioned.[3] He was also part of an attempt to start a free-trade zone in Honduras.[1]
In 2013, Berwick announced his plans to co-found the world's first bitcoin automated teller machine (ATM) in Cyprus.[4][5][6] Business Insider called the plans "bogus" and "almost certainly nonsense."[7] Berwick responded that the plans were legitimate.[8]
