Jeff May (born April 4, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for the Ducs d'Angers in the French Ligue Magnus. He was originally selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 5th round (151st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Playing career
After completion of his major junior hockey career in the Western Hockey League with the Prince Albert Raiders and the Lethbridge Hurricanes, May was invited to the Minnesota Wild training camp for the 2008 season.
On March 20, 2009, May was signed as a free agent to an entry-level contract by the Phoenix Coyotes.[1] On June 11, 2012, May left North America to sign his first European contract in France with Ducs d'Angers of the Ligue Magnus for the 2012–13 season.[2]
After a single season with Angers, May decided to return to his previous club, the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, on a one-year deal on July 30, 2013.[3]
With the Wranglers ceasing operations at the conclusion of the season, May signed with fellow ECHL club, the Ontario Reign on September 29, 2014.[4] He attended AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs training camp before returning to the Reign to begin the 2014–15 season.
On June 9, 2015, May signed for a second stint in the French Ligue Magnus with former club, Ducs d'Angers.[5]
