Jen Chapin is an American singer-songwriter. She is the daughter of singer-songwriter Harry Chapin and his wife, Sandra Chapin. She serves on the Board of Directors of WhyHunger, a grassroots support organization founded by Harry Chapin and current Executive Director Bill Ayres. She has been compared at times with Laura Nyro, Tori Amos, and Alanis Morissette.[1] Chapin's own website describes her music as "jazz tinged urban folk soul...incorporating the funk, soul and improvisation of the city".[2]

She studied at Brown University and the Berklee College of Music.

When Chapin tours, she often plays with her husband, bassist Stephan Crump, as well as guitarist Jamie Fox, a group usually billed as the "Jen Chapin Trio" (and described as "a nationally known urban folk group").[3]

She has appeared on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and has worked with Bruce Springsteen.[4]

Chapin lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and bassist Stephan Crump and their sons Maceo and Van.
