Jerry Brown (basketball)
Jerry Brown (height: 6'7, weight: 220 pound) is an American professional basketball forward for BCGO of the Fédération Française de BasketBall (FFBB). He played in the NCAA (Division I) for Fresno State University and Santa Clara University.[1]
Early years
Jerry Brown was born October 6, 1991,[2] in Richmond, California. He played high school basketball for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. During his senior season, he averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game. As team captain, he led Sacred Heart Cathedral to a Division III state championship with 29-4 record. He was named Cal-Hi Sports State (3x), All-WCAL (3x), and All-WCAL Co-MVP (as a senior). In 2006 he was selected to the Adidas Superstar Camp All Star Game and Adidas National Team.
College career
Brown played three seasons at Fresno State. He was the team's Defender of the Year in 2013. He played in 94 career games, averaging 5.8 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game. He ppeared in 31 of 33 games as a true freshman (2009-'10) He recorded freshman season-highs of 10 points and 7 rebounds, hitting five of seven field goals at Boise State on January 30, 2010. He redshirted in 2010-11, then averaged 8.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game while playing 30.5 minutes per game in 2011-12. In that season he scored 290 points and logged a total of 1,007 minutes of action. He converted 96 of 199 (48.2%) field goals and 97 of 144 (67.4%) free throws, as well as 31 assists, 27 blocks and 35 steals. He was named All-WAC Fourth-Team by College Sports Madness in 2011-12, and Academic All-Western Athletic Conference in 2009-10.
He graduated with a degree in communications in May 2013 from Fresno State. He then transferred to Santa Clara University to pursue his master's degree, in which he led the Broncos in rebounding.
Professional career
Brown is currently playing for Iserlohn Kangaroos in the Pro B in Germany.
