Jessica Swale

Jessica Swale is an English theatre director and writer and playwright.[1] She completed her secondary school education at Kendrick School, Reading, and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and the University of Exeter. She is the Artistic Director of Red Handed Theatre Company which she co-founded with Katie Bonna in 2006.[2] Previously she worked as associate director at Out of Joint and Shakespeare's Globe. In 2010 she directed the first work by a female playwright performed at Shakespeare's Globe.[3] In January 2016 Swale was appointed as a patron of the Arts Educational Schools, London.[4]

She has directed a number of plays, including The Busy Body, The Belle's Stratagem, Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, The Rivals, Mad Kings and Englishmen, The School for Scandal, The Glass Tower, Palace of the End, Bedlam, Winter, Finding Alice, etc. She has directed bilingual productions of Shakespeare in Bosnia and the Marshall Islands with Youth Bridge Global.
